We have found that infusions from the leaves of the coconut tree, Cocos nucifera, collected in a Natural Reserve of Panama, has antiplasmodic properties. Fractionation or liophilization of the components greatly reduces or totally inhibits, in the latter case, this activity. Nicole Tayler has led this study in which the largest environmental NGO of Panama, ANCON, is involved.
